The Solaris 10 Containers Administration course provides a practical, hands-on, guided experience working with Suns virtualization capabilities, collectively known as Solaris Containers. Solaris Zones and Solaris Resource Controls combine to create Solaris Containers. In this course you gain the knowledge critical to properly implement and manage these important capabilities in the Solaris operating system. The hands-on labs offered in this course involve accessing equipment that resides at a location other than where the training is delivered. This course is delivered in a remote learning environment. Students will attend the course via phone and will need a high-speed internet connection to successfully complete the course.

This course is presented using Sun's web-based Live Virtual Class (LVC). The LVC is a dynamic and fully interactive online learning environment that features live teaching collaboration, and instructor-assisted activities.

Lab Information
The hands-on online labs offered in this course involve accessing equipment through a network terminal session. Students will not have physical access to this equipment. Students will access the equipment through Sun's Remote Lab Data Center (RLDC).

  • Describe UNIX devices and common administration concepts
  • Administer systems at a level consistent with having completed the Solaris System Administration part 1 and 2 courses
  • Administer the Solaris 10 operating system
  • Administer systems at a level consistent with having completed the Solaris Network Administration course
